THINGS TO DO IN OLD ORCHARD BEACH

Old Orchard Beach is the kind of vacation spot that has something for everyone. You can take the family to the beach or the amusement park, relax in a beach chair and watch the surf or explore southern Maine. The area is known for it's multitude of restaurants and variety stores -- from beachwear and collectibles to antiques and fine art. There is also great shopping at the outlet stores in Kittery, and of course LL Bean and more outlets in Freeport.

DIRECTIONS TO RICKI'S PLACE

From I-95 in Maine Southbound:
Take Exit 42 (formerly exit 6)

Take a right off the ramp onto Payne Road. In approximately 3 miles you will intersect with Route 1

Turn right and immediately get into the left lane. At the next light (one block - you will see Scarborough Signs on the left and the Dairy Corner) you make a left onto Route 9 (heading toward Pine Point and Old Orchard Beach)

Stay on this road for about 5 miles. In about 3 miles the road makes a sharp right turn at the Clambake and becomes East Grand Avenue. Two miles further you will come to the first street that actually cuts across the road you are on. This is Walnut Street. My shop is on the left just before the corner and on the right is the Biarritz Motel.

Make a left onto Walnut Street (going toward the water). Make a left into the first driveway. Park on the left.

From I-95 in Maine Northbound
Take Exit 36 (formerly exit 5)

Follow Route 5 to Old Orchard Beach. When you see the gas station and the 7-11, turn left staying on Route 5. Go past the traffic light at the fire house and past the RiteAid drug store on the right.

At the Town Hall (stop sign) bear left following signs to Route 98. Go a very short distance and bear right when you see the signs for Radley Shopping (Portland Avenue). At the 4th street make a right onto Walnut Street. Continue past the railroad tracks, cross East Grand Avenue (the only street to cross), make a left into the first driveway. Park on the left.
